The majority of people have issues staying productive. There’s a variety of factors that go into your productivity. The environment you work in, distractions surrounding you, the task it self, there’s many things that can come in the way of staying productive.
Think of how incredible it would be to wake up and already be organized and ready to be productive? Crazy thought I know.
Things happen in life and distractions easily get in the way of our day. However, there are things we can put in place that will guide us towards staying productive throughout the day. You don’t need to do all these things at once but starting on them puts you on the right path of staying productive and having an effective day.
Staying Productive May Mean Waking Up Earlier
I know the last thing you probably want to think of is waking up early. No one wants to lose any sleep. However, waking up a little earlier than when your day is supposed to start will allow you to spend extra time on your morning routine. Preparing your mind for the day has a huge affect on staying productive. Mindset is key and this is one way you can prepare your mindset for the day to come. You could spend time eating breakfast or taking part in meditation. Think of how good you’ll feel not being rushed in the morning and having anxiety that you need to GO-GO-GO as soon as you wake up.
Staying Productive Doesn’t Mean Sitting At A Desk For Hours Getting Everything Done
Movement throughout your day leads to boosts in your productivity throughout the day. Some studies say to do some sort of movement every 30 minutes, however, getting up from your work when you’re deep into the peak of your creativity may be just as counterproductive. Find the time that works best for you and won’t get in the way of your work and spark of creativity. a 5-minute walk or a stretch every hour or so will open up your mind to staying productive and give your mind a short break.
You Don’t Need To Get EVERYTHING Done
Seriously, thinking you’re going to get EVERYTHING done in a day is ridiculous. This will only lead you more down the path of being less-productive because you’ll feel like you just can’t do it. Organize your day and the tasks you need to get done. To-do lists and checklists are perfect for this. Write down every single thing you need to get done during the week and just pick three to get done that day. Check these off while you’re going through, trust me you’ll enjoy the sense of accomplishment. It’s amazing the power of checking something off your list has in the grand scheme of staying productive. Rank your tasks in order of priority and get started through them! Then you can assign deadlines to them and feel better about getting them done.
These are just a few ways to keep yourself productive throughout the day. Staying productive is key to ensuring your business remains effective and your clients remain happy. No one wants to work with someone who is constantly procrastinating and not staying productive. Get on the track of productivity and start feeling better about your work!
